Red Sea Dive Expedition 2011

Sharm-El-Sheikh & Dahab Blue Hole, Egypt

Saturday 19th February to Sunday 27th February 2011
(The dive center will cater for you should you not be able to find flights on these exact dates.)

Dublin to Gatwick (Aer Lingus) Sat 19th 16:45 18:05
Gatwick to Sharm (BA) Sat 19th 22:00 04:50 (on Sun 20th)
Sharm to Gatwick (BA) Sun 27th 11:00 14:25
Gatwick to Dublin (Aer Lingus) Sun 27th 18:40 19:55

With the above itinerary there is no overnight stay in the UK and only 5 days holidays from work needed. Further, British Airways & Aer Lingus have a generous baggage allowances of 23KG. Total Flight costs €660 including luggage

Diving:

The Red Sea offers the best reef diving in the world together with a world class ship wreck - the SS Thistlegorm. We will be boat diving every day except for Dahab therefore the trip will suit all experience levels.
Option 1 - Sharm, Ras Mohamed National Park & Tiran
" 5 days of boat diving (2 dives per day) including air tank & weights = €225
Option 2 - Sharm, Ras Mohamed National Park, Tiran, SS Thistlegorm & Dahab Blue Hole
" 6 days diving package (2 dives per day) incl. air tank & weights = €420
Extras
" 3rd dives are optional and cost €20, Night dives cost €35
" FREE Nitrox 32% and 34% for Nitrox certified divers - saving of €50

Accommodation:
The 3* Falcon Inn Viva Sharm Hotel is €210 B&B per person based on sharing a double/twin room. Upgrades available upon request.

Food:
Lunch on board the dive boat - €7 to €10 per day. Dinner is available at the hotel on a ½ or full board option. Alternatively there is a selection of inexpensive restaurants in Naama Bay

With the above itinerary we will get 6 days diving. EasyJet have a generous baggage allowances of 20KG. (When I booked my flight in Sept 2011 the total flight cost was €120 including luggage.)


Diving

Fantastic wreck diving from 26m to 39m. PADI Advanced Open Water essential with PADI Deep Diver recommended.
Trimix wreck diving from 50m to 90m with availability for just one DSAT Trimix student remaining.
Prices vary depending on every divers requirements but Diving Matrix is as competitive as you can get in Malta.

Accommodation

We are staying at Hotel Valentina in St Julians, Malta.
750 meters walk to the dive center and even less to the shops and nightlife.
€27 per person per night including breakfast.
€23 per person per night including breakfast if sharing.


Food

Eating out can be very good value in Malta. A budget of €15 to €20 per day should find you a reasonable lunch and dinner.
